After opening for a year, Chengdu Restaurant New Menu is launched with new items and retaining some popular dishes as well. We recently enjoyed a feast of Sichuan cuisine at Si Chuan Dou Hua and still relishing on the multi-facet flavours, it is timely that we continue to savour while our craving existed.
Situated in Amoy Street, occupying 3 levels of a pre-historic shophouse offering a capacity of 180 with 2 private rooms for diners to savour authentic Sichuan cuisines whipped by Chef Qing Jun and Chef Jing Xiao, both has impressive experiences and credential under their belts.
Chic modern design with dark wood furniture and chinese ornaments donned the space. The red umbrella lantern added colour to brigthening the area.

First new dish to kick-start the meal, Roasted Foie Gras 一品干烧鹅肝 ($42.80). Pan-seared foie gras with king oyster mushrooms for an added texture in savoury sweet sauce to prepare the palate for more food to come.
Full of collagen Chicken Feet with Pickled Peppers 神仙泡椒凤爪 ($13.80) that has a hard and chewy texture, marinated for 48 hours hence you can expect intense sourish and spiciness in the chicken feet. I love the pickled radish more than the chicken feet.
Sichuan Eggplant Claypot 土砵茄子煲 ($12.80) is the french-fries of Sichuan, coated with a light sweet sauce, is extremely addictive.
Beggar Potato 叫花土豆 ($12.80) consist of deep-fried potato balls coated with 20 types of spice is a good dish to go along with beer.
Tender and yet flavourful Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs 手抓排骨($22.80) will certainly be carnivore’s pick.
Flavourful Braised Tendon with French Bean 芸豆焖蹄筋 ($26.80) great with rice, especially the sauce.
Whetting the appetite with Fish Fillet in Sour Soup 重庆酸辣鱼 ($22.80).
For diners who love Mala Tang, don’t miss out on the Sichuan Style Spicy Pot 冒椒火辣 ($28.80), filled with lots of ingredients such as prawns, luncheon meat, sweet potato starch, cuttlefish, fungus and the rest is for you to explore.
After trying out Chengdu Restaurant New Menu, I am sure I will return for other dishes.
