Niceday Dessert at Tiong Bahru offers South Taiwan snow ice grass jelly desserts. I don’t know if it originated from Taiwan but what I know is that they offered quite some refreshing and delish dessert. At a corner of level 2 at Tiong Bahru Plaza where the F&B congregate, one will find Niceday Dessert.
Taro Q Ball Series
In the Taro Q Ball Series, the base consists of either grass jelly or soy bean curd. As for the topping, one could find mainly with taro Q ball, sweet potato Q, mochi ball, red bean and nata de coco. In addition, there are some with Kanten Pearl and aloe vera too. The price is at $4.50 for the basic bowl and $5.40 for the premium bowl.
For hot dessert, diners could only turn to the one and only that is Purple Rice Red Bean Taro Q.
For diners who like lots of toppings could opt for the Mega Bowl because it has all 7 available toppings. Alternatively, diners could select the premium bowl; either Premium Avovado Bowl or Premium Durian Bowl.
This series is available for takeaway and it is served in a takeaway disposable bowl even when dinning in.
In the Polo Ice series, 5 flavours are available; Brown Sugar & Grass Jelly, Osmanthus & Grass Jelly, Gula Melaka & Soy Bean Curd, Matcha Green & Grass Jelly, lastly Pineapple Nectar & Aiyu Jelly. All flavours are $6.80 each. From the name, one could easily identify the base which is either grass jelly, soy bean curd or aiyu jelly.
Between the shaved ice and base sandwiched the red bean and nata de coco.
Niceday Dessert has also provide diners with an option of mixed ice flavour at an additional $1.
Purple Sweet Potato Milky Snow Mountain ($9.90), Mochi Soy Powder Snow Mountain ($9.90) and GreenTea Grass Jelly Snow Mountain ($9.90) are part of the Snow Mountain series. The base are made up of either grassjelly or soy bean curd. Like the Polo Ice series, the Taro Q mix and Mochi balls are provided by the side.
I tried only the Purple Sweet Potato Milky Snow Mountain ($9.90). With abundant purple dusting, it is a little too sweet for me.
Coming up soon is Fruity Snow Mountain with Strawberry Icy Snow Mountain ($8) and Mango Icy Snow Mount on Aiyu.
Hong Kong Eggette And Waffles
Most are familiar with the Hong Kong Egglets where Niceday termed it as eggette. At Niceday Dessert, they have creatively turned the eggette into a fanciful dessert with a scoop of ice cream and other ingredients. There are 3 creations available, Coconut Paradise ($6.8), Brownie & Oreo ($6.80) and Matcha & Azuki Bean ($6.80).
We tried the Brownie & Oreo Eggette. We find the eggette a little too dry and bitter. When eaten the eggette with the ice cream, it was much better as the ice cream moist the egget. Unfortunately, the ice cream was too small for the entire eggette.
On a side note, the eggette is available individually as Origina and various sweet and savoury flavours.
If one prefer waffle with ice cream, Niceday provide the alternative too, the Honey Waffle ($9.9).
We would stick with the Taro Q Bowls and maybe the Polo Ice. and perhaps the Snow Mountain for sharing.
At the very least, we would avoid the Eggette.
