Artemis Grill, helmed by Chef Fernando Arevalo, is the latest F&B addition to CapitaGreen. It is perched at the rooftop, level 40. As such I was expecting a good view of the skyline of the surrounding. I made a request for table near the window for a better view.
Since I have gotten news of Artemis Grill’s establishment while they were under renovation. I waited in anticipation. As soon as I got a chance to try it out, for a friend’s birthday celebration, I suggested this as one of the choice selection. The other since was not selected by the birthday guy, shall keep in view for now.
Space was separated into 2 section by a glass; a dining area and a bar at the open terrace. The space was dressed in modern theme with comfy earthly tone.
Artemis pride itself for its Mediterranean dishes using organic produce. You could expect dishes from the raw bar, appetizers, charcuterie, grills and a few other mains with a good list of selection of sides to accompany the mains.
I was surprised to find Artemis Grill offering about quite a variety of bread (Tomato, Multi-grains, sourdough and 1 other I can’t remember) for selection. The dip was a fragrant olive oil with an olive spice to enhance the flavour. I enjoyed the dip since I love the taste of olive.
We didn’t order dishes from the Raw Bar but dived directly into the appetizer section. The first was the Black Angus Steak Tartar ($22). It was accompanied with sweet potato & yukon crisps. It was in perfect harmony with the Black Angus Steak Tartar. The chips were excellent even on its on. Pretty addictive in fact.
The Alaskan King Crab Salad with grilled pimento peppers, avocado, tomato petals ($28) was the other dish we ordered for appetizer. It wasn’t the typical salad that we would have imagined. The pairing of the ingredient gave the dish as a creamy and well balanced dish.
Morcon Sausage (20g) with Bread ($16) was the only item we ordered from Charcuterie section. The sausage was pretty salty.
We waited for quite a long while for the mains as the Veal Chop that we ordered, took quite a while to grill.
All the mains we ordered, all were served together. All our attention was diverted to colourful Beetroot Tortellini ($30)plate. You could have this dish as a Main or appetizer ($20). All thumbs up. Though it was a vegetarian dish, we enjoyed. In fact, it was the highlight of our meal.
Grill shall not be missed out since it is a restaurant of grill. We went for 2 dishes. Our first choice was the Milk-Fed Dutch Veal Chop with roasted leeks, blackberries ($60). Little marinate, mainly salt and dashes of pepper to bring out the flavour of the veal.
After having the veal chop and the pasta which have set the bench mark of Artemis high, we thought the Loch Fyne Salmon on Lemon crust, baby fennel salad, roasted purple potato ($34) was less outstanding comparatively.
Finally to my favourite time of the meal. Dessert! Pineapple Rhum Baba ($16), a dish of crispy pineapple canoli, passionfruit cream, rum & raisin ice cream was excellent. We have 2 portion of this as one was complimentary from the Chef as a birthday cake for our birthday boy. Why didn’t the Chef give us a third dessert on the menu? That would have been perfect.
Chocolate dessert is never missed since we have chocolate fans among the diners. Out of the two chocolate desserts, we Chocolate Trio ($18) instead of Bomboloni ($17). The Trio is made up of the Valhorona chocolate tart, the mocha Ice cream and passionfruit chocolate cake. All the elements complemented each other to its best.
NAHMJ Verdict
NAHMJ and guests were impressed with the food served at Artemis. With great food and great skyline view, it made dinning more than pleasant.
