Introducing Nando’s New Mango & Lime Flavour with Nando’s fame flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken. A new flavour that paired well with the Peri-Peri sauce. It is the first time after they started many years ago that Nando’s is introducing a new flavour.
Many might know Nando’s and tried them but I am sure not many know that they are an South African company offering Afro-Portuguese dishes. Another interesting fact about Nando’s is that each restaurant has its design.
We started with 2 appetisers, first the Chicken Livers and Portuguese Roll ($5.90). It could be paired with the Nando’s New Mango & Lime flavour too but we chose Lemon & Herb. Either you like it or you don’t. I belong to the former. Loving it. As some isn’t used to the unique flavour of the liver.
PERi-PERi Soup ($5.90) is a lightly spicy Mushroom Soup. I thought it sounded weird, but surprisingly, it does taste decent. Mushroom flavour was rich.
We got a Full Platter with 2 Regular and 1 Fino Side ($44.90). On this, we asked for Nando’s New Mango & Lime Flavour. A appetising flavour which none of us find it spicy at all. Sweet and fruity complemented the Peri-Peri and Chicken completely. We love it. It is certainly a kid-friendly flavour too.
Grilled Chicken Cataplana ($18.90) is a dish with spicy rice and cataplana sauce together with grilled vegetables. Most didn’t like the spice that was used in the rice. Personally, I find it a little too spicy for my palate though it was flavourful and I like it.
Espetada with 2 Regular Sides ($21.90) is an easy to eat dish. Since it is bone-less and manageable cube. With the pepper in between, an added flavour was emitted.
It is interesting to see that Nando’s take effort to offer some desserts. We enjoyed the Pear-fect Tart ($5.90) and Tangy Lemon Tart ($5.90). Former was a big hit with everyone at the table. Most find the latter too sweet though personally, I it sourish with a good hint of sweetness and I like it. Looks like this item is very contestable. But the tart base could be further improved.
Lastly, I would avoid ordering the Natas ($5.90). Cream curd was delish; creamy, milky and at a good sweetness level but tart crust was lacking of the crisp totally. Instead it was chewy.
Tropical Fruitea ($4.90) is the new drink introduced in conjunction with Nando’s New Mango & Lime Flavour. Citrusy and refreshing drink. Otherwise, diners could opt for the Yuzu Garden Tea ($4.90) or Sparkling Apple ($4.90)
NAHMJ Verdict
We love Nando’s New Mango & Lime Flavour though some find it too sweet. After all the Nando’s New Mango & Lime Flavour does go well with all dishes at Nando’s
