Montana Singapore New Menu For 2017 is getting better and better than their Revamped Menu for 2016. This is a cafe who is always innovating and creating the best for their customer. We find them always humble to listen to feedback for the better.
This trip to Montana Singapore, as usual we look forward to try their new dishes. More importantly, we were glad to find a handful of items that we love and are ready to revisit for more.
Not only was there a change in menu, a revamp was seen for part of the interior. We love the new homely look and feel.
Montana Singapore New Menu For 2017
In Montana Singapore New Menu For 2017, though there were new items, we noticed that they retained a handful of crowd favourite items such as the red and black velvet waffles.
Out of 7 sides, we tried only the Fried Chicken Wings with garlic mirin sauce ($12). There were a handful of others that we were keen to try too; like the mac & cheese fritters ($11), and sweet potato fries ($11). We will keep it for next trip then.
The fried chicken was tasty with crispy batter, however none of us enjoyed the sweetish mirin sauce.
All Day Breakfast
At the All Day Breakfast section, here too offered 7 items. First was the Baked Salmon with Poached Egg ($18) which I though fit better at Main Section. I am not a cooked salmon fan, however, I enjoyed this dish.
Among all the items we tried, Truffle Egg Rosti ($19) was least appealing. A few points that were disappointing. First, truffle was strong to the nose but not the palate. Next the rosti was ultra crispy till we find it hard and chewy, hence the flavour of potato was absent. In adidition, the rosti was bland. Therefore, the shredded potato must be eaten with the parma ham.
Coming up next is our favourite, the Signature Mac & Cheese Waffle ($15). This item was on Montana Singapore menu since day 1 and we have tried the previous rendition too. So when we were served this item, we were neutral about it, until it landed on our tastebud. Immediately, it wowed us. It was never before this cheesy and flavourful. The light spiciness-kick did the wonderful trick to elevate the impact. I am certainly going back for this soon.
On the Main Menu of Montana Singapore 2017 Menu, was 8 dishes. We tried only the Cold Crab Truffle Pasta ($21). Every component in this pasta was perfect. Truffle smell was strong and we could savour it. Angel Hair pasta was al dente. Real crab meat was used. Overall, flavourful with a balance. A must order.
Bianco ($13) is my favourite dessert among the 2. This de-constructed dessert has many surprise element in our opinion. First the lightly saccharine horlick cheesecake. This is a first to us. Consuming it by itself was already a bliss. Next having it together with the passionfruit mousse, introducing a light sourish, fruity flavour to the cheese caught us by surprise. We didn’t expect the complexity of flavour blended so well. Lastly have it together with the buttery biscuit stick to provide some crunch.
Next is a dessert for the alcoholic, the Rosso ($13) and we meant it. Literally, every element that assembled on this plate consist of alcohol. First, there is a glass of red wine for pouring over the dessert. Next is the nest-like structure made with vodka. Followed by the Irish Whisk Sauce. Till right at the bottom are the macerated berries.
A de-constructed dessert reflecting the red wine tasting note.
Montana Singapore Coconut Brew is well known. Now, they up their game by offering the very first V60 Cacao Pourover ($6.80) in Singapore. Three variation to choose from; Original, Mint and Smoky Infusion.
This is surely not for me as it tasted like Chinese herbal drink. For those who enjoy the Lohan Guo Herbal drink would like this. It has similar taste note.
We felt Montana Singapore is ever improving and getting better and better for the Montana Singapore New Menu For 2017 And we believe that the best is yet to come. For this menu, we certainly recommend the Signature Mac & Cheese Waffle, Cold Crab Truffle Pasta and Bianco.
