Having a cafe at the basement, though near the entrance of High Street Building is least I expected of. Hence, it is surprising that, Dot & Dash chose such a spot. In the vicinity, a number of cafe existed, I didn’t think the threshold population could support large many cafe. A Starbucks at the next building, The RB Capital and The Betterfield at The Treasury. Nearer Clark Quay MRT station, there is Wanna Cuppa. Perhaps, they are all banking on the Executives in Raffles Place.
Whatever it is, as long as it is near me, especially when it is within walking distance (in my opinion), I welcome them. As such, I was very happy to know about their existence until I found out their opening hours wasn’t too friendly. They are there to serve only during office hours. Otherwise, I will have one more cafe to get my caffeine fix after the sunset and for chillax too.
Food served at Dot & Dash was limited to Sandwiches in the form of baguette, pastries, soup cum a handful selection of desserts. A total of 4 set menu were offered, Pastries Set ($7.50), Soup Set ($9.50), Sanwich Set consists of sandwich and any drink ($11.50). Lastly, Full Lunch Set which is the Sandwich Set plus Soup ($15).
Since it was for breakfast, I opted the Pastries Set. My choice of pastry was the Chocolate Croissant while Cappuccino was the drink. I thought well of this pastry. Bittersweet dark chocolate rolled in the flaky buttery layers was delish.
Cappuccino was of low acidity, full body and chocolaty and nutty. A flavour note I am familar with.
For those who need their daily coffee dose, a good news is that they offer coffee loyalty card.
Something less desire was that even for dine-in, they served it in takeaway bag and cups.
NAHMJ Verdict
Dot & Dash serve decent simple staple which I am sure will be welcomed by many Executives in the area.
