South Beach Avenue conveniently located above Esplanade MRT station has finally launched its lifestyle wing, 16 dining and lifestyle concepts (currently stands at 15 with 1 new concept brewing in the pipeline) with as many as 11 new-to-market players. I believe they are the first mall offering such a high percentage of new-to-market tenants.
Foster + Partners who designed the space has cleverly incorporate both the heritage buildings such as the old Beach Road Military camp and the modern multi-tiered courtyards, walkways and the iconic wave-like microclimatic canopy.
Dining @ South Beach Avenue
South Beach Avenue offers a total of 10 F&B outlets over 2 levels (Level 1 and Basement 1) and 2 of them at the conservation building.

The other star drink is my favourite, 50 Shades of Pink ($12 for happy hour, $15 after happy hour), a A cider with pink guava. Interestingly, a cafe occupies both end of South Beach Avenue with Caffe Vergnano 1882 at the end, next to Bras Basah Road while Dimbulah Coffee at the other end, next to Middle Road. In case you do not know, Dimbulah Coffee owns a 33-hectare coffee plantation on the Atherton tablelands in the highland region of northern Australia, providing their own constant supply of Arabica beans for its signature coffees.
The coffee here are low acidity, full body with nutty and caramel flavour note, rounded, smooth and long finishes on the palate. It is very easy to drink. And all the pastries are made in house. Some of the highly recommended items are Downunder slices ($2.50) in coffee macadamia and white chocolate flavour and Raspberry Lamingtons ($3.50). I prefer the latter as it is soft and fluffy and at an acceptable sweetness level. The Coffee Macadamia Downunder slice is cloying sweet.
