Before the entrance to Singapore Conference Hall, on the right is the Farmers And Chefs. Across is the Downtown Gallery, for ease of locating them.
These days, a lot of concepts is revolving around reducing waste and back-to-basic. With this in mind, Farmers And Chefs serves unpretentious food with mainly edible garnishing if there is any on the plate.
Highlights Of The Menu
On the menu of Farmers And Chefs, there are 5 categories; The Big Breakfast, Sides And Appetizers, Rice Bowls, Mains and Pasta, with dessert missing which I find it a pity as it doesn’t make the offering complete.
Among the 5 breakfast items, mainly bread dishes, we tried The Farmer’s Breakfast ($10) consists of hand-grated crispy rosti, creamy scrambled egg, sous vide herb-marinated chicken with greens and the their signature soy mayonnaise (with no egg) by the side.
Pomodoro Pasta ($10), a tomato based pasta with basil; a basic staple for those who prefer simple no-fuss item.
Harmless-looking Prawn Aglio Olio ($13) can be quite spicy for some as they added chilli padi into the dish.
Truffle Mushroom Cream ($14) is the crowd-pleaser.
For those who prefer rice, 2 recommendation, Teriyaki Chicken Rice ($10) and Yakiniku Beef Rice ($14). Personally, I prefer to have more sauce to the dish, otherwise, it is too bland.
Lastly, the Kurobuta Pork Loin ($18) which I will highly recommend. Tender and tasty. Enjoy it with the red wine apple sauce to reduce cloying feel. Moreover, fruity flavour does elevate the taste of the meat.
For hearty and wholesome food that are value-for-money, Farmers And Chefs is the choice.
