Original Dishes Of The Menu

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand In Thailand Is Now At Nex - Single Portion Chicken Thigh (S$5.50)

What you could expect on the menu is of course their fame Chicken Rice. First is the Single Portion Chicken Thigh (S$5.50). If diner prefer, opt for Chicken Breast instead. Comparing to local Chicken Rice, Thai rendition is the healthier version. For diner who prefer non-oily chicken rice, Go-ang Kaomunkai Pratunam Chicken Rice is the go to. The flip-side is that it isn’t as aromatic as the local version. Don’t forget the special concocted Thai Chicken Rice chilli sauce using a secret recipe of fermented soya bean, chilli, among other ingredients.

Chicken Gizzard is also available on the menu. I am sure our senior folks at home welcome these additions.

Complementing Dishes

Complementing dishes Signature Braised Pork (S$8/small) and Chai Poh Omelette are well-received. Don’t forget to dip the omelette with the special fish sauce.

Followed by the crowd faourite, Stir Fried Sliced Tofu with Dark Soya Sauce (S$8). With both sweet and savoury flavours emitted from the dark soya sauce, some diners find this dish stood out for them.

Next, the Steamed Sea Bass with Chilli, Lime & Garlic (S$28), yet another recommended dish. The sourish, spicy taste will whet your appetite for more.

Personal favourite is the Stir Fried Basil Chicken with Kai Lan (S$8). I could savour the fragrance of basil and the crunch from the Baby Kai was perfect choice for the dish.

For diners who love soup, a good option is the Bitter Melon & Pork Rib Soup. For someone who doesn’t like bittergourd, I was able to handle the level of bitterness. Perhaps due to the many other flavours masking the unpleasant sense.

Desserts

Rounding up the meal with some truly Thai desserts such as Homemade Red Ruby with Coconut Ice Cream and Steamed Tapioca with Coconut Cream. Among the 2 choices which we tried, I would go back for the latter as the flavour was richer. Unlike the former, it was flat and light.

Ensuring Quality

Finally, to ensure the authenticity of the cuisine, Mr. Sombat Pruekpaiboon assisted with the launch of the Singaporean venue. Furthermore, all kitchen staff were trained by Go-Ang founder Mr. Sombat Pruekpaiboon at the original restaurant in Bangkok.
