The mentioned of Le Clair de Lune Restaurant In Lille, reminds me of the third movement of Suite bergamasque by Claude Debussy. One of my beloved piece of music. However, this Le Clair de Lune is a restaurant in Lille. Not far from the city centre.
During Summer, the restaurant offered Al Fresco dinning. This isn’t the only restaurant, numerous along the same street such as Estaminet Chez La Vieille did the same. You won’t see this in Winter.
Hence, getting a table during Summer is an easy task if you prefer dinning indoor.
At Clair de Lune Restaurant, in addition to the Ala Carte items, diner could opt for set combination; select a Starter and a Main at €29, Main course and Dessert €28, finally Starter, main course and dessert at €38. I opted for the last option.
Cold and Hot Starters were on the menu. I begin with a cold starter, Terrine of foie gras with apricot and rosemary chutney. I was surprising that apricot and rosemary chutney was excellent combination with foie gras.
Veal scallop, savory viennoise and Boulogne cream camembert was my selection for Main. I enjoyed the tender veal with the cheese cream sauce. Though not the vegetable by the side.
Macaroon with vegetable carbon, milk chocolate ganache, red peppers and raspberry is an interesting dessert. The combination of unusual ingredients resulted in such an unique dish. I never expect red peppers to be added in a sweet dish. Nonetheless, it created an amazing flavour.
No doubt I would recommend Le Clair de Lune Restaurant. And especially the Macaroon if you are bold.
