Beans from the fame Liberty Coffee Roaster are used by many cafes in Singapore. I am sure, most would have savour a cup or two maybe even without knowing the source of the roasters. In case, you are wondering where you might get Liberty Coffee, if you have visited, Carpenter and Cook, Atlas Coffeehouse or even the now-defunct Artisty.
If you are a fan of Liberty Coffee, you may be excited to know that they have opened a cafe named Liberty Coffee Bar along Jalan Besar, with neighbours such as Char. This area is a densely cafe populated area too. You will find Chye Seng Huat, Wimbly Lu and Creamery Boutique. and even restaurant such as alittle tashi and The Chinese Kitchen.
Space is elongated with 3 section. First is the retail space. Followed by the counter, lastly the dinning area.
Liberty Coffee Bar is known for their coffee, I was surprised to find delish food offered at the cafe.
Sandwiches such as Hot Butt Sub ($13) with savoury pull pork was so delicious. Pickle were added to reduce the cloying feel if any. There is option of adding fries or green ($2.50) and I chose the former.
An All Day Breakfast item only available on Friday and Saturday is on the menu, Croque Monsieur ($12). If you prefer the Croque Madame, request for an egg added. I love the generous cheesy flavour on the sandwich. Great for cheese lovers.
Since coffee is the highlight at Liberty Coffee Bar, certainly I got to order them. I tried Cappuccino on my first visit and then Iced White ($6.50) on the subsequent due to the sweltering weather. Love the non-syrup iced coffee with milk. Low acidity with some dark berry and nutty, full bodied cuppa.
