F&B scence is competitive in Singapore and more so for Thai food. New restaurants and cafes has been trying to outdo themselves by being creative and keep coming up with new menu. More so for brands who have been around for awhile. Hence, we see that Bangkok Jam has once again refreshed their menu.
I can’t remember when was the last time I visited Bangkok Jam. It’s my first time Visiting the outlet at Plaza Singapura. Like Typhoon Cafe in the same mall, this brand is also run by Creative Eateries.
First and Foremost is the Bangkok Jam Signatures, the Mix Grill Platter includes Chicken, Grilled Pork Skewers, Prawns, Sous-Vide Beef & Bangkok Jam Signature Salad. Accompanying with some special sauce for the grilled meat elevated the flavour. Certainly a great option for sharing.
Alternatively, go for the small bites. First option is the Caramelised Pork Belly which was stewed till the essence of flavour absorbed entiredly by the meat, followed by deep-fried. Hence the result was light crispy with melt in the mouth meat. For bacon lovers, do order the crowd-pleaser, Bacon Wrapped Enoki.
Offering both the Clear and Red Tom Yum Soup, depending on one preference. Personally, I enjoyed the former as I could savour the complexity of flavour. The latter was mainly a sweet tomato-like fragrance which I didn’t enjoy.
Some of the amazing One Dish Wonders are Deep-Fried Dory or Chicken Cutlet with Thai Jasmine Rice.
Getting more popular these days as I see it appearing on Thai Restaurant Menu more often is the Duck Curry. The first time I tried this curry was at Blue Jasmine. Over at Bangkok Jam, they offer the Egg Noodles with Duck Breast in Red Curry. Uniquely in this Red Curry, diners will find grapes and lychee in it, giving a fruity and enhancing the flavour with natural saccharine. However, some might lament on the soft texture of the egg noodles.
For those who love the Thai classic dish, can always safely turn to Seafood Phad Thai which require no description.
Iconic Thai dessert such as the Mango Sticky Rice and Coconut Ice Cream with Red Rubies which is so well known till at the mention you know what they are, made great choices as they are equally delicious.
I was worried that the Banana Tempura with Hot Caramel Sauce might be cloying nectarous as all the ingredients are sweet; be it banana, caramel and the ice cream. My concern was invalid. Surprisingly, light on the sugar and yet it complemented.
As Bangkok Jam are located in islandwide; mainly in major shopping mall, finding a restaurant is an ease especially when one have Thai Food craving.
