Somehow in recent month, cafe has lost some of its charm. Perhaps, over populated or the slow down in the number of new cafe. No matter what the trend of cafe-hopping still exist, though not as popular. In the last quarter of 2017, we hopped to Thus Coffee at Jalan Kuras. Quite remote and we are sure most won’t cover this corner if they don’t stay around this area.
It’s easy to locate the cafe though it is not obvious to the sight from the Main Road.
Interior design theme of Thus Coffee is industrial. A very common theme in cafe nonetheless it was nicely done up.
Menu was a mix of typical Breakfast Food and some crowd favourite Mains. Hence, you might describe them as Brunch items.
Handful of sides and I am attracted to Sweet Potato Fries ($9). As always, I am bias to this item so I certain rate it full marks.
We opt for one breakfast and the other Mains. First was the Salmon & Kale Toast ($17) instead of the signature item, Thus Breakfast as we love Brioche. All my favourite ingredients; Eggs, Yogurt Sauce, Kale, Smoked Salmon and Brioche, are on the plate hence another dish that I would rate 5 out of 5. Personally, I thought the yogurt really make a difference and that’s what contributed to this outstanding dish.
Portion of Chirpy Fish & Chips ($16) is huge making it value for money. Taste-wise, I really think it was decent though nothing fantastic.
Berry Matcha Lava Cake ($15) has a dense cake with nice match flavour.
Green Shot ($6.50) a good balance of March and Coffee. Not only it tasted good, it is gorgeous for a photo shot.
NAHMJ Verdict
Thus Coffee is quite a good place to enjoy brunch over weekends, especially true if you are in the area.
