FroRoll Singapore is not your usual Ice Cream Roll Dessert Cafe but something more. Not only they offer dessert worthy for the square but there is a lot more. If you follow closely the singing competition, Campus Superstar and in particular Season 2, you might have noticed Keely Wee who is a Finalist. She is the owner of this up and coming dessert cafe located at The Venue Shoppes in Potong Pasir.
A stone throw from Potong Pasir MRT station make the location accessible, hence very easy to locate the cafe too.
Space isn’t as Instagram worthy though. Everything in the cafe was simplicity and functional.
On FroRoll Menu, they offer 2 range of desserts. First and foremost is the Back To Basic and the other is Extravaganza.
On Back To Basic, there are 5 items. First is the Strawberry Shawty ($10.80). Strawberry Ice Cream Roll on Bread Roll resemble the old-school ice cream sandwich with traditional bread. This series draws inspiration from this classic dessert we are all too familiar. By the side is the Florentine cookie, and digestive biscuit crumbles to add crunch and strawberry jello cheesecake bar to complement the dessert.
The other I tried was the Key Lime Pie ($10.80), a personal favourite between the 2. Similar to the above, instead of bread roll, we opted for waffle cone. This choice is possible for all items in the Back To Basic Menu. Lime & Calamansi Ice Cream Roll sat on the waffle with a almond cookie and granola crunch for texture and a Lemon Meringue Pie Bar.
Extravaganza Dessert is where the desserts get more interesting. The most popular of all is the Volcanic Avalanche ($15.80). Keely Wee a geography major and also a avid baker decided to combine both love and hence this dramatic dessert was born. Such instagram worthy dessert reminds me of Non-Entree Dessert.
Within the dark chocolate ‘volcano’, hidden the molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream roll. Surrounding the volcano are Brownie Chunks and Maple Granola. Crack the volcano to find the treasure within.
The popular Lightbulb Fruit Tea ($4.80) is also available at FroRoll. There are 3 flavours; My Fair Lady (Peach concentrates and Hibiscus Tea with Chia seeds, Summer in Ceylon (Mango & Lychee concentrate in Ceylon Tea with Nata De Coco) and lastly a new one, not on the menu, which I can’t remember the name.
