Away from the bustling and hustle, surrounded by residentials is Midview City. Within the ground of Midview City, for those who have been will notice the presence of Grab. Beyond this, if you take the time to explore, you find a few eateries and one of which is Caffe Zeppin owned by a Taiwanese couple.
Interior was simple, nothing fancy. In fact, we couldn’t identify it with any theme. Only functional and practical fixtures are in place.
Menu is extensive catering mainly to the lunch crowd of the offices in the building. Even drinks were 2 page worth.
Kick-off with some beverages such as Avocado Milk with Gula Melaka ($4) which is sweetened purely with the Gula Melaka. Caffe Zeppin offers a very unique and creative drink that I would highly recommend as it taste fabulously delicious, the 3C Milk Tea ($3). In it beside Milk Tea, Wheatgrass is presence. The grassy wheatgrass complemented the with the astringent tannis in tea, resulted in this an exclusive flavour which I truly enjoyed.
Many other beverages such as hot and iced tea, espresso-based coffee and many more other iced drinks for selection.
Caffe Zeppin offers a handful of sides. For those who love cheese and gyoza can opt for for the Cheese Gyoza ($7.90). The cheese pull of this item is strong. You can observe it from my photo above. But personally, I will skip this. The entire feel of the gyoza is like a fried dumpling instead.
Alternatively, go for the safer choice, crispy succulent Chicken Katsu ($6.50). I would skip this likewise as all the pieces were breast meat which I usually avoid.
Moving to the Mains, Taiwanese Braised Minced Pork Rice ($6.90) and Pork Belly Don ($7.50) are the signature items at Caffe Zeppin. Overall was fragrance with lightly sweet caramelised flavour.
For those who prefer Western food, numerous pasta choices are on the menu too. We opted for the Carbonara ($9.90). Though creamy, it was too bland for my strong palate.
Alternatively, opt for Local Delights such as the Penang Fried Kway Teow and Prawn Noodle. Both were decent.
Rounding our meal with desserts, Mini Waffle with Single Scoop Ice Cream ($6.50). Waffle flavours available are Original, Matcha (not available on our day of visit) and Red Velvet. Several ice cream flavours for selection such as Strawberry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cookies & Cream and a few others. The waffle is soft and dense however lacking of a crispy outer. They compensate this element with cornflakes.
Caffee Zeppin offers delivery option via Food Panda and Deliveroo too.
NAHMJ Verdict
With such a wide variety offered on Caffe Zeppin Menu, there is no lack of choices. What to order? Certainly has to be Taiwanese Braised Minced Pork Rice and Pork Belly Don.
