For those who are familiar with Curry Rice in Singapore would certainly have tried Coco Ichibanya and/or Monster Curry. One other, lesser known, at Liang Court. Now we welcome Fujiyama Dragon Curry House hailed from Hiroshima at Orchid Hotel, competing with established brands like Keisuke Tontotsu King & Gyoza King, Teppei & Hana Hana, Ryo Sushi, Sushi Kou and a few other Japanese restaurants.

 

Occupied by a Korean restaurant previously. The space is relatively small, hence expect to be crammed. There are indoor and outdoor option.

 

 

 

On Fujiyama Dragon Curry Menu, there is non other than the Japanese Curry Rice. First choose your curry rice from the menu with 7 different variations. If you prefer you can add your prefer preferred toppings accordingly; 6 toppings to choose from, Deep Fried Pork ($4), Garlic Pork Belly ($3), Half Boiled Egg ($1.50), Cheese ($3), Minced Pork ($3) and Deep Fried Chicken ($1 per piece).

 

 

Next choose the spiciness level; Non-spicy, Original and Spicy. Finally, decide if you need regular or up-size rice.

 

 

Fujiyama Dragon recommend us the signature, Cheese Curry ($15.70) and we chose the Garlic Pork Belly with Cheese Curry ($18.70) instead of the plain one. We find the cheese a little sweet.

 

 

If you are there for the first time and do not know what to choose; in addition, you are very hungry, go for the All Topping Wild Curry ($19.70) which was the second recommendation from the curry house. We love this option since there are lots of ingredients.

 

 

 

There are a total of 4 other combinations, Deep Fried Chicken Curry ($15.70), Breaded Deep Fried Pork Curry ($16.70) and Garlic Pork Belly Curry ($15.70) and lastly the plain Fujiyama Dragon Curry ($12) 

 

 

At mid-way of your meal, add the Paitan Soup into the rice and it now turned into a curry porridge, very much a comfort soup. All 5 diners love this method of eating the curry rice. However, we would love it even more if the soup is piping hot.

 

 

NAHMJ Verdict

 

We find the differentiation of spiciness in the 3 level at Fujiyama Dragon Curry House to be extremely marginal. The difference is mainly in the sweetness which was absent in the spicy option. The rest is very much depending on your preference for the toppings.
