Burgerlicious found home at District 20 Hot Melt Cold Brew, a trendy kopitiam, located at Jalan Pemimpin. Most might find the address Jalan Pemimpin alien since the area is mainly industrial and landed properties cum condominium. The consolation is that it isn’t far from Marymount MRT station.
This kopitiam has a very high ceiling resulting the space looking spacious. The entire look is modern. We believe such kopitiam is the direction for most future setup.
At Burgerlicious, a total of 15 different variations of burgers are on its menu. For some of the burgers, it came with an option of either chicken or pork. Of course the crowd-pleaser, beef burger, is available too. This is the second F&B establishment which we knew of that offered pork burger. The first was Dojo. Some of the flavours are unique too, since we have never spotted in other burger joint.
Starting with Kung Pao Chic Burger ($9.50) and Pork Belly Confit ($10.00) which we thought were extremely refreshing. Kung Pao is always pork while over at Burgerlicious, they innovated by offering chicken. And surprisingly, the flavours goes well with chicken too. The pork belly flavour reminded me of char siew. The sourish and spiciness from the kimchi and mustard paired off well with the sweetness.
Alternatively, Teriyaki Burger ($9.00) is an equally interesting option. The abundant caramelised onions and pineapple are the secret to this tasty burger.
If you love your cheese and beef, and of course provided if you love Bleu Cheese, you could opt for the Bleu Cheese Mushroom Burger ($12.50). The Bleu Cheese was specially imported to make the sauce for this creation. Personally, I didn’t find the bleu cheese pungent so I believe most could accept it. The patty though was a little dry, luckily the sauce moisten the meat.
Here comes our favourite burger, Salted Egg Burger ($10.50). This burger has a pork patty instead of chicken. What we really love about this burger is that, sauce was solely savoury without the sweet hint that usually comes with salted egg sauce. I like my salted egg sauce in this manner.
You ought to order the Sweet Potato Fries ($2.50). It is easily one of the best in Singapore. However, if you are looking for french fries, then you will be disappointed as it isn’t available at Burgerlicious.
Other sides available are Popcorn Chicken with Curry Ketchup. If you are looking for greens, diners could have it for free-flow at $6.50.
NAHMJ Verdict
One interesting observation about Burgerlicious is that all burgers came with an egg. Overall, we find the burger tasty and each burger find favours with different diners. Therefore, it is really about preferences.
