We are in Poke mood this month and have been going through the island trying Poke such as Aloha Poke @ Bugis, Poke Lulu and our this stop is Loloku Poke Bar & Deli and perhaps next stop will be Alaki.
Loloku Poke has a share premise with Don Ho Social. Offering Poke in the day while the latter serves dinner in the night.
When I saw the dining area, I thought I was at some part of the Amazon Rainforest.
At Loloku Poke, they are the Poke Joint that offers the most number of standard Poke Bowl with 6 to choose from. Among them, there are vegetarian option tool. I prefer to Build My Own Poke Bowl.
The Poke are marinated only upon order. Hence you don’t get to see the seasoned Tuna or Salmon on the display. Personally, I don’t know what’s the draw. In fact, I see the downside instead. This may cause inconsistency from bowl to bowl. Furthermore, I prefer having the Poke with stronger seasoning flavour as such pre-marinate will suffice my requirement.
Finally, I got my customised Poke Bowl. Like most Poke Joint, I chose the size (Medium, alternatively Large) which is ultimately the amount of fish. At the same time, decide on the type of fish. Next the base, (brown rice). Followed by 4 adds on (Tobiko, Almond, Pickled Ginger and mixed vegetables). Finally, a superfood (Avocado).
The fish is fresh and lightly flavoured. The portion amount is relatively little for a medium portion. After all, a good place to turn to if you like lightly flavoured poke bowl.
