63 Espresso / 63 Celsius @ Paragon has a dual concept. The former offers mainly coffee and tea while the latter is a full service restaurant whipping some pretty looking dishes. The segregation between the 2 concept isn’t obvious except for having 2 drinks menu which I was handed looks strange.
Dressed in Chic contemporary design, giving a bronze shinning looking feel from afar.
63 Celsius @ Paragon seems to specialise in Beef as I noted a section of beef on the top left of the food menu. Other categories are Pasta, Green, Comfort food, Brunch and Desserts.
Some greens available are Lettuce & Vinaigrette ($14) and also Tomatoes, Cheese & Herbs ($18). What caught my eyes was Josper Grilled Vegetables ($16) as grilled vegetables are always sweeter and josper grilled result in a woody smokiness which I enjoyed. Grated cheese on the vegetables provide the briniess that elevated the flavour. The portion was relatively small, it was more appropriate as a side. A pity one of the lady finger was extremely fibrous which I have challenge chewing it.
Hopping over to the comfort food, was the 63Hamburger ($23). This burger was best for carnivore. There isn’t a single green on the burger. Between the bun were Wagyu Beef Patty and Roast Beef slice together with 3 slices of cheese. I find it far too meaty for my preference.
Among the 4 desserts, I tried 50% of them. First was the Keylime Tart ($10). For those who don’t tolerate sourness well should avoid this. The initial bite rasied eyebrow as it was extremely sour. When I ate it together with the whipped cream it reduces the sourness and complemented the sweetness. This was so much better.
Apple Galette ($10) was baked apple slices on a puff pastry. I find the entire desserts a little too chewy which I didn’t relish fully. However, the sweetness level was perfect. Having apple pie with vanilla ice cream is always a right choice. But I didn’t understand the need for the chocolate crumble. Perhaps butter crumble would have been a better choice.
Homemade Ice Lemon Tea ($5) was on 63 Celsius @ Paragon drink menu.
Coffee is served from the 63 Espresso cafe. I tried the Cappuccino ($5.50) and thought it was a decent blend. Low acidity, full body, some berry notes and nuttiness.
Overall, food at 63 Celsius @ Paragon was enjoyable.
