There are a total of 3 Morganfield restaurant in Singapore for now and we visited Morganfield’s @ Suntec for its new menu recently. Read on to find out what they are offering. The other 2 restaurants are at VivoCity and The Star Vista.
In case diners aren’t familiar with Morganfield, in short, they offer American BBQ prime pork ribs, slow cooked to juicy, tender perfection the old fashioned way, quoted from their website. And yes, so if one is craving for pork ribs, look no further but Morganfield. Another restaurant for the carnivores!!
This was my first visit to Morganfield’s @ Suntec. It’s kind of strange that I have never visited them even though I love BBQ pork ribs. Not too late though.
Ambience at Morganfield’s @ Suntec is very much causual, woody and everything seems brown.
As always, started with appetisers. First was the Golden Fried Wings ($12.90), certainly a crowd-pleaser. Anything deep-fried is always delicious. These chicken wings was marinated in Morganfield’s secret spice mix and somehow it has a inkling of the five spice and ferment prawn paste flavour. Loving it.
Though the Apple & Chicken Salad ($17.90) may look too plain or even unappetising, I could assure you that it is certainly pleasing, unless you are a carnivore. The combination of green and red apple slices provided the natural sweetness and sourness to the salad. I thought it was an absolutely smart way of healthy eating. In addition, breast meat was used.
Simple corn corn chips was baked with cheese, topped with sweet pulled pork and housemade chilli concarne, salsa and jalapenos with slaps of sour cream resulted in this tasty heap of Loaded Chilli Nachos ($13.90). Personally, I find it a little too sweet for my preference.
Proceeding to Main Couses. The Sticky Bones stole the limelight of the night with the new favour Kansas Sweet BBQ Sticky Bones ($27.90 Half Slab / $42.90 Full Slab) which was most appealing to us, comparing to the second one we tried. As the smokiness complemented the sweetish marinate sauce.
If diners prefer a sweeter marinate, opt for the Hickory BBQ Sticky Bones ($27.90 Half Slab / $42.90 Full Slab). In general, the ribs are fork-tender and melt in the mouth. A pity, the marinate didn’t get deep into the meat of the thicker ends. Both sticky bones are served with fries and coleslaw.
Should diners prefer fish, there are 2 recommendation, either the Blackened Salmon ($23.90), a healthier version yet tasty due to the Cajun spice.
Or the less health but familiar to most, the Beer-Battered Fish Sandwich ($21.90) as it is very much like Classic Fish & Chips.
Lastly, a chicken dish, Tequila Spike Chicken ($24.90). My least favourite among the dishes. As the chicken wasn’t with much strong marinate.
Without failed, dessert is a must. For peanut butter fan, remember to order PB&J Mudslide ($9.90) consisting of peanut butter cream, jelly and chocolate ganche.
The Chocolate Lava Cake ($15.90) is always a dessert that attracts. No doubt, this too.
Alchoholic, the Morgan’s Bread Pudding ($11.90) is certainly for you. It is served with Jack Daniel’s whiskey sauce and vanilla ice cream. Personally, I am not a fan of this one, as the pudding was too doughy.
NAHMJ Verdict
The food variety and portion at Morganfield’s @ Suntec are plenty and large. There is something for everyone. A great place for large group or chillax.
