Holiday Inn Macao Cotai, located at Cotai Strip is part of the Sand Cotai arena with 3 other hotels interconnected via the 1st 3 floors (including the ground floors) of shopping, dinning and gaming. The 3 other hotels are St Regis Macao, Conrad Macao and Sheraton Macao
Located at the Cotai Strip, with many other hotels such as Venetian, Galaxy and Studio City (new) surrounding Sand Cotai providing lots of shopping, dining and gambling option. In addition, it is about 10 – 15 minutes walk to Taipa Village. Certainly a vibrant area, making it a good option.
Lobby of Holiday Inn Macao Cotai is located at the ground floor, easily located after alighting from the free shuttle from Ferry Terminal.
Queues were clearly labelled and staff were stationed to assist, speaking Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
On the day of our arrival, the queue for checking-in was long. Speed of the check-in staff was relatively fast, queue cleared at a reasonable speed. I estimated about 30 guests ahead of us in queue, we waited for about 15 minutes.
As most of the guests were from Mainland China, you might find some jumping queue. This happened to me.
We have a Superior/Deluxe Room (located at level 21 if I remember correct). It was close to the lift lobby, nonetheless, it was quiet. We didn’t hear much noise from the room for our stay period (19 – 21 October 2015).
Room size is 37 sq m with a floor to ceiling glass windows. Don’t expect much view as either size you will be facing either St Regis or Sheraton. Unless you are having a corner room.
Bedding options were a King or Twin Double which obviously from our photo we opted for Double Twins.
Pillow options available in the room were both soft and firm.
The other amenties provided in the room were workstation with a chair, iron and ironing board, in-room safe, minibar, complimentary tea bags, instant coffee and bottled drinks, Wifi, sofa seats, 32 inch LED TV with HD channels.
The bathroom was relatively large (at least most wouldn’t describe it as small).
There are separate bath and shower area. Basic toiletries were provided such as shower cream, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toothbrushes, cotton buds, shavers and shower caps with hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.
The Gym was rather small with not much of equipment while the Swimming Pool was a normal pool and a Spa was available.
Besides the Holiday Inn Lobby Lounge and Pool Cafe offered by Holiday Inn, you will find a Koufu Food Court at 2nd floor and various other restaurants by the remaining 3 hotels.
Complimentary shuttle to and from Macau Ferry Terminal, Taipa Ferry Terminal, Zhuhai Border Gate, Lotus Port, Macau International Airport and Sand Macao Hotel (over at the Peninsular).
An average of HKD 872.90 per night (taxes and service charge not included; 5% tax and 10% service charge) for the period of 19 – 21 Oct. Booking was via booking.com
In general, for the 2 nights, we find the room clean and quiet. We thought it was reasonable for the location, quality and the size.
