The Populus Coffee & Food Co is going to be a fierce competitor to the many outstanding cafe in the area such as The Lokal cafe, at the adjacent stretch of shophouses.
Right from the start, I am seeing that it has been getting many elements right; from the interior design to the menu, taste of food and even service.
The Roasted Chicken Grain Bowl was colourful and certainly has whetted the appetite. I managed to finish the entire bowl, either it was really that delish or I was famished.
The grains consists of a variety, I spotted of course the quinoa, barley and sesame. Not sure what’s other were mixed within the grains. Besides the grains, right at the op was the shredded roasted chicken and surrounding it with cous cous, furikake baby corn, red cabbage & apple slaw, chargrilled zuchinni, roasted butternut squash, sauteed cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and spice cauliflower.
Should chicken is not your choice, you could opt for the Pulled Pork Grain Bowl instead. These are certainly healthier options.
Cappuccino was a relatively balance cup of medium to low acidity, full body with some nutty and berries undertone.
There were some Sundae, three flavours, Lemon & White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and Strawberry. I am determined to try them soon and of course more of their food.
From the start at the soft launch, I find The Populus Coffee & Food Co on a very positive and perhaps even excellent track. From the food they served, the service they provided were outstanding.
