Chef’s Noodle Singapore – Harbourfront Centre, Singapore

When Chef’s Noodle first started, a group of my colleague were excited and tried it upon its first week of opening. They were back with disappointing reviews. All rated it badly. Words used were awful, not nice and so on. Nothing positive. After almost a year, I thought I should give it a try since it is still surviving. Things should have gotten better.

Most would have known by now that Chef’s Noodle is opened by a Korean Celebrity Chef, Chef Choi, serving Korean-Japanese fusion dishes.

On its menu, there were mainly rice or noodle dishes with few side dishes to offer.

Chef’s Guksoo Signature Noodle

We tried Chef’s Guksso Signature Noodle. It was served with either beef or pork broth.

Our choice of broth was beef. Noodle used was the thin kind topped with bulgogi beef, Japanese tamago, shredded beancurd, spring onions, bean sprout, some luncheon meat like and seaweed.

It wasn’t as bad as what I heard. I suspect things might have improved over time. Neither was it fabulous. It was a comfort bowl of noodle great when the weather is cold.

Sushi Chef’s Bulchobap, Sparkling Fire Sushi

The Sparkling Fire Sushi was torched to cook the beef in front of the guest, we thought this is an interesting dish to try.

Beef was tender and flavourful. We could either enjoy it with or without the wasabi sauce, depending very much on individual preference and maybe mood too.

On a side note, we would appreciate the server to point the torch away from guest while “cooking” the sushi. I was pretty worry that should accident happen, it would not be pleasant.

Seafood Pancake

Lots of eggs were used in the seafood pancake with sufficient seafood covering every inch of the pancake.

Though it may not be the best Korean Seafood that we have tried, it is after all a delish one.

Hot Honey Ginseng Tea & Hot Plum Tea

Lastly, we each ordered a drink; a Hot Honey Ginseng Tea and a Hot Plum Tea.

In short, pleasant.

Verdict & NAHMJ Favourite

The complimentary side was so Korean-Japanese fusion too. Guests were served the Korean Kimichi and the Japanese pickle.

Dining at a causal environment with decent food at decent price, after all still a pretty good alternative to the F&B scene at Harbourfront around.

NAHMJ felt the must order is the Sparkling Fire Sushi if you do eat Beef.
