At the ground floor of a hostel contained a row of cafe, together with Candy Crepe and The Dispensary, is Plus Sixty 6 Cafe whipping out authentic Thai food right at 1A Short Street. This building was formerly a Primary School, now transformed into other uses.
From a distance, Plus Sixty 6 Thai Restaurant could be easily spotted due to the large red and blue logo and 2 white-washed bench. When one stand nearer to the restaurant would have noticed it was cutely decorated with a windmill too.
Interior was simple with cemented walls and floors. Tables were designated white while chairs were black. By two sides were some photo of Thai related theme.
I was pleasantly to surprise to see the menu having such comprehensive selection. It was such a huge menu. I didn’t know what exactly to order, I was a little too overwhelmed.
Pad Woon Sen was a fried vermicelli dish. It was my first time seeing black fungus and tomato added to the fried vermicelli as usually it was simply fried with only lots of garlic and spring onions. With the fungus, it provided this extra crunch texture.
I was so glad to see Coconut Ice Cream on the menu. It was served in a coconut husk with generous amount of peanuts scattered on the top. It was a pity that the ice cream tasted nothing more than an old fashioned vanilla ice cream. I didn’t savour any coconut flavour at all. It was a disappointment.
Beside the Thai Iced Milk Tea, Plus Sixty 6 serves the Dark Thai Iced Tea which I am seeing it for the first time. If you like gao gao (strong and concentrated) Thai Tea. This is a good choice.
Plus Sixty 6 is a Thai restaurant suitable for both group and solo diners since it cater some individual portion dishes of both rice and noodles and also a wide range of Ala Carte Dishes.
