KINS Restaurant has taken over the space previously occupied by Don Antonio Italian Pizza Bar, an Italian restaurant which I adore. It was a pity that its existence was extremely short.
The restaurant has the exact furniture with not much of a change to its interior, except for the logo, of course.
KINS Restaurant whipped a selection of French, Italian and perhaps fusion like dishes too. On weekdays lunch, there is a lunch set menu available too.
You will find starters such as Tataki Tuna, Beef Carpaccio, Crabbiecake and Salad. And you find soup the evergreen favourite of most, the Forest Mushroom Soup and a Fusion soup, Wintermelon Chicken Bouillon.
Among the selection, I tried the Beef Carpaccio. It uses Cape Byron Angus Beef, topped with arugula, red onions, wonton skins to give the crunch and Asian sesame dressing to enhance the flavour.
If you like pasta, it is on KINS menu with Seafood Aglio Olio, cream sauce for Crabmeat Linguine and Fettuccine Carbonara, and a mushroom pasta, Pasta A La Funghi.
Should you prefer meat, go for the Mains, 4 selections; Poached Chicken Ballotine, Soya Glazed Salmon, 4896 Porky (Braised Pork Belly) and Striploin Steak. I chose the Poched Chicken Ballotine which tasted like an healthy option. The Poached Chicken roulade was stuffed with mushroom paste, served with green mash, sauteed vegetables and sauce poivrade. I like the Green mash best.
If you enjoy some food for sharing, you could go for the Snacks & Bites. On this section, there were 5 John Chicken Cube, Bison Wings, Steak Fries and Deep Fried Shiitake Mushroom.
Finally, desserts lover whom like to end the meal with a sweet notes, you could have both the Tira Missu U (Tirmamisu) and Apple Tortilla Tower which is very much like an improvised apple pie.
KINS Restaurant is a casual restaurant which is good for dining in group with family and friends. Food are above average and at an affordable prices for general mass.
