With the same address, 30 Bali Lane where it was home to Honeycomb, now it has been transformed to Brother Bird. Behind Brother Bird is the by the same group of owners from the Stateland.
Dropping froyo from the menu and serving only soft serve in a new shape and adding mochi donut to the menu at Brother Bird.
There were 2 flavours of soft serve offered. It is a pity that they don’t sell the the mochi donut ala carte, but has it as a combo with a softserve of combined flavours of coconut and cookie-butter. And of course drinks such as Coffee and Tea were served at Brother Bird too. Ette Tea was served at the cafe.
The Cookie-Butter ($5.50) has a Speculoos Soft serve with almond crush, sea salt and Lotus Caramelized Biscuit. The soft serve texture could be smoother. It was slightly icy. Personally, I find it a little too sweet and the speculoos flavour was not distinct to savour. Perhaps with some Lotus biscuit crush mixed sprinkled on the creation would have been better. Alternate remedy might be drizzle Cookie sauce over the soft serve.
Rice Donut Soft Serve ($9) is served with a dual swirl (coconut cum cookie butter), which you get best of both world, sat on a fluffy and yet chewy rice donut drizzled with salted caramel sauce, with caramelized cookies and some sparingly of dehydrated berries.
Personally, I like this combination. Coconut went very well with the caramelized cookies crunch and caramel sauce. Though some might find it sweet. A pity that I could hardly savour the cookie butter soft serve as it was dominated by the coconut.
I popped by the cafe twice, once in August and once in September, hoping that the cafe would have a change of soft serve flavours on a monthly basis. If Brother Bird isn’t coming up with new flavours but only the 3, it would be too boring for long term.
