Supermilk Artisan Ice Cream & Kitchen - On a Wall

Supermilk Artisan Ice Cream & Kitchen – The Commerze, Tai Seng

Supermilk Artisan Ice Cream & Kitchen is an addition to the stretch of existing cafe at the ground floor of The Commerze @ Irving Place; such as The Oven Bistro Cafe, Carol Mel Cafe, 23 Jumpin Cafe  and many more.

Like the rest of the cafe in the building, the design is simple. Nothing fanciful.

Menu

2 menu are at Supermilk; a weekday and a weekend menu. Both are pretty similar with mains more of a focus on the weekday menu. On the weekend menu, the mains are mainly breakfast items.

Al Fungi Pasta (Vegetarian)

The Al Fungi Pasta being a vegetarian dishes wasn’t too tempting. Though we aren’t strict carnivore, we enjoy meat.

The dish weren’t too appetising-looking. The sauce looked starchy instead of having a creamy texture. The pasta  was a little soft, not Al Dente. Despite the flaws mentioned, we could savour the mushroom flavour infused into the pasta. This made up for the dish.

Tunisian Eggs

Though the menu mentioned “eggs” but we spotted only an egg.

This fare better than the Pasta dish. We thought this was flavourful and zesty. Though I am not a tomato based dish fan, I enjoyed this. The bread provided was too little, we felt they should have provided at least 2 more pieces to make it wholesome.

Artisan Ice Cream

Currently, Supermilk only has 3 flavours; vanilla, cookies and cream and hazelnut.

Hazelnut and Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

We tried only the Hazelnut and Cookies and Cream flavour.

We like the both the flavours and the texture too. It was a pity that the flavours were pretty limited

Beverages

Cappuccino and Ice Chocolate were the 2 drinks we tried at Supermilk Cafe.

Coffee was a little too bitter with Ice Chocolate drink being decent.

Verdict

NAHMJ felt that it was a great addition to the stretch since ice cream was not available in the area. Out of the 2 mains we tried, one was fabulous, the other has room for improvement.

Service at Supermilk Artisan Ice Cream & Kitchen was friendly and warm. We like the warm design and lighting of the cafe too.

We thought they should serve more variety of flavours of ice cream and focus more on dessert and improvement to their Mains and coffee to be made.
