Which sweet tooth can resist these charming colourful sweets, named Macarons? I can’t, even though I am not a Macarons fan. But my sweet tooth will act up when my eyes see them. This round I went after Paul Bakery’s Macaron. My favourite items from Paul Bakery is the Palimer. I have high hope for its Macaron too, hoping it would be as good as its Pastries.
Paul Bakery Macaron comes in either large or mini size. For mini size, these are pre-packed into box of 12s in 6 flavours. While the large doesn’t come pre-packed. You order what you want.
Paul Bakery Macarons Texture
Each macarons, when examined, you see that the macarons shells are almost perfect. It has most of the perfect macarons characteristics.
The texture of Paul Bakery Macarons biscuit are chewy throughout, right from the top (after the crisp layer) to bottom. You will feel that chewy sensation the moment you sink your teeth right into the macaron. The macaron biscuit is packed and not at all airy.
Pistache
First I tried was the Pistachio macarons. I could hardly taste the pistachio aroma.
It was too subtle for me who prefers strong tasting food.
Coco
Out of the six flavours, one of which is the Coconut flavour. This has the second strongest intensity in terms of flavours among the six. The first was chocolate.
The Coconut flavour wasn’t as subtle as the rest of the flavour which came as a pleasant surprise to me.
Citron
Lemon was one of the six flavours included in the assorted box.
When bite into this Lemon macaron, your face won’t turn grimace, instead you will savour the faint sweet citrus fragrance.
Framboise
Next I tried was the Raspberry flavoured Macarons.
Like most which I have tried till far, the raspberry jam was balmy sweet fruity and refreshing flavour.
Caramel
By now, when trying the Caramel, I was expecting a it to be mild as well.
And true enough, it was. It was lightly sweet, unlike most caramel which has that typical chocking sweet taste.
Chocolat
Finally, the chocolate. Left it to the last as I was expecting it to be the most flavourful one.
Indeed. Even it was the strongest tasting flavour, it was still considerably light. Chocolaty enough to savour the flavour.
Verdict
What I like about Paul Bakery Macarons is the chewy interior of the macaron biscuit. As the flavours were lightly scented, I could finish the entire box all at once. Lol! Paul Bakery Macarons is suitable for people who has a light palate. As one with stronger palate, I won’t mind having Paul Bakery Macarons either. All in all, I enjoyed its fruity flavour macarons most.
