Daikiya Japanese Restauarant serves Ala Carte Buffet. It was on the trip with my Mom to Hong Kong that I dine at this restaurant with an ex-colleague which we have not met for ages.
Daikiya Buffet has an array of food served. There are two thick booklets with leaflets of the different sections. Pulled the required section out and indicated the number of portion you want and you must also remember to indicate your table number as well. Each table is allowed 2 hours to dine at the restaurant which I really think it is more than sufficient.
Daikiya was suggested by my ex-colleague as I asked so. When he mentioned that it was a Buffet, I went err…. I never like Buffet as one tend to over eat. Most importantly, food usually isn’t that awesome. Nevertheless, I thought we should go ahead since I asked for a suggestion.
Let me give you a flavour to what are offered in Daikiya.
Some of our choices were Sweet Prawns, Prawns, Yellow Tails, Abalone, Salmon, Scallops and some shellfish.
We tried the Prawns, Grilled Oysters, Pineapple, Chicken Wings and Eel.
I left out a few photos as I was too excited to try them.
Fried and Tempura
Unfortunately, all our tempura was not served. We ordered the Sweet Potato, Pumpkins, Prawns and Lady Fingers. The Fried Chicken that was served was delish.
Sushi, Rolls, Handrolls
There was different rolls. I forgot a number of photos too.
Some of our selections were the rolls, California Roll, Roll with Mango, Salmon Sushi, Salmon Sushi with Mayonnaise, Sweet Prawn Sushi and Prawn Sushi.
We only ordered the Daikiya Salad which is mainly fruits and lettuce with a refreshing sourish dressing. There are others such as Jelly Fish Salad, Ceasar Salad and many more.
Mains & Others
We ordered only the Beef Udon as some of our order wasn’t served. You will find Sweet Corns with Butter as well and of course many more.
Desserts & Fruits
Lastly, desserts. There were Ice Cream, Roselle Jelly and Fruits.
My final thought was, it wasn’t too bad. In fact, pretty awesome. Better than I have expected at least. It was certainly a good choice.
