Thai Boat Noodle - Overview

One Dollar Thai Boat Noodle At Bedok Point

The One Dollar Thai Boat Noodle has now arrived at Singapore, Bedok Point and has recently made splash with a man eating 37 bowls of the noodle. I was invited to the media tasting by Thai Boat Noodle.

Thai Boat Noodle - Counter

The Thai noodle restaurant is located at the center of second level whipping up some delicious authentic Thai Boat Noodle.

Thai Boat Noodle - Tom Yum Fried Rice

We were served the Tom Yum Fried Rice as the first dish. The fried rice has a nice Tom Yum Flavour; hot, spicy and sourish. Pretty Shiok but I would prefer if the rice is more grainy.

Thai Boat Noodle - Crispy Chicken Skin

Next, the Crispy Chicken Skin. It was absolutely crispy. And you must not missed out on the homemade chilli sauce made with their secret recipe. This certainly made good snack with beer.

Thai Boat Noodle - Thai Boat Noodle (Soup)

Now, we reached the climax of the meal, the $1 Thai Boat Noodle. There are two versions, soup and dry. Each mini bowl of noodle, about a mouthful comes with a pork ball and a pork slice. The soup has a good porky flavour which the ladies seated around the table didn’t really fancy.

Thai Boat Noodle - Thai Boat Noodle (Dry)

We enjoyed the dry one. The dry version has three different type of homemade sauces with the peanuts added, provided a more flavourful note to the dish.

Thai Boat Noodle - Tom Yum Noodle

The other two versions of Noodle at $1.50 was the Tom Yum flavour and …

Thai Boat Noodle - Sour & Spicy Noodle

… the Sour and Spicy flavour. As both were sourish and spicy, these captivated the heart of the ladies.

Thai Boat Noodle - Condiments

There are various condiments on the table too for you to add to your dishes.

Thai Boat Noodle - Bowl Stacking

Apparently, the way to go about eating the Thai Boat Noodle is to eat as many bowls as you can and stack the bowls like the one in the photo. And currently, they are running the Boat Noodle Eating Challenge. The winner will walk away an iPhone 6. They will be picking a diner who eats the most bowl each week for the final. Drop by for the challenge.

Thai Boat Noodle - Thai Pandan Jelly With Coconut Milk

The last dish of the day was the Thai Pandan Jelly With Coconut Milk. I enjoyed this dish to the max. As I find it has a perfect balance of coconut, sweetness and crunch of water chestnut. One is definitely not enough.

Thai Boat Noodle - Iced Thai Milk Tea

The first drink served at the event was the well known Iced Thai Milk Tea. It has a subtle Thai Tea fragrance. This has the perfect sweetness level for me and a good balance of milky aroma. If it has been a little more stronger with the tea taste, it would have been perfect for me.

Thai Boat Noodle - Iced Lemongrass Drink

The Iced Lemongrass drink has a very mild lemongrass flavour. This is good for people who doesn’t like it strong.

Our table missed out on the last drink, Iced Rosella Tea as we weren’t served, so it was a little pity that we didn’t get to savour it. We only noticed when it was time to leave, otherwise, I would have asked for it 😛 Anyway …

Thai Boat Noodle - Thai Fruity Yellow Bean Paste

We were each given a nice box of colourful Thai Fruity Yellow Bean Paste. Each were shaped into a fruit, that looks so much like the really one. I wanted to share the delicacy with my family so I decided to bring home to share.

It was certainly a night of great company with good food.
