I took my Mom to Cocoa Colony At Shaw Centre along Scotts Road as she loves Chocolate drink. So I thought this place would be perfect for her. But bear in mind, I have not tried, so she is going to be the guinea pig. Hehe.
I spotted Cocoa Colony when I went to I Want My Noodle but I forgotten about it until a second occassion when I was there with my Dad and aunt to Xi.Yan.
The outlet may look pretty huge as it has a wide breadth but they don’t offer much seats. You will find only 4 seats facing the Claymore Hill and Pacific Plaza, that’s more for people grazing, I suppose.
Cocoa Colony offers mainly chocolate stuff. There is a good list of various Chocolate concoction. Fortunate for the non-Cocoa drinkers, you will find the standard tea and coffee too. They offer some ice cream (which I didn’t realize) until the staff asked if I would like to try (I mean to get a scoop). And I saw some cakes too. Both cakes and ice cream, there were limited selection. After looking at the sight of the ice cream, I thought Cocoa Colony Signature would be an interesting flavour. Not knowing what was in it as I did not read the flavour description or enquire about it and neither did they offer me to try before getting a scoop.
After contemplating for quite a few good minutes, my Mom finally decided to have the Iced Cocoa Shakerato. She loves it. She finds the chocolate taste was strong enough for her. Unfortunately, I tried only after I started my ice cream so I couldn’t really taste it.
Ok, so how was the ice cream? It was certainly creamy, strong in flavour. After the ice cream landed on the tastebud, instantaneously, I could recognize that it was peanut butter. The taste was further enhanced with the nuts. The chocolate bites were added to provide more of a crunch than flavour. We enjoyed the ice cream.
My Mom declared her love for the Cocoa drinks and the ice cream. I am sure she will bug be to go back for more. Lol!! And I am glad she likes it.
Recently, as Cocoa Colony has introduced the Bola, I tried it with a friend. We chose the Signature Cocoa Colony Peanut Butter Cocoa Bola.
You need to hit it hard with a wooden hammer to break the ball apart and enjoy the pieces.
Both of us find it too sweet.
