Xiang Xiang Cooked Food Serves Putu Mayam

It’s difficult to find Putu Mayam these days. But lucky, there’s a store, Xiang Xiang Cooked Food, at Chinatown selling this particular local delight. Usually, this snack is sold at Indian store but the one at Chinatown Food Complex has Chinese owner.

The Putu Mayam is as good as what I had in the past. The rice noodle like is soft and has a little chewiness. Each packet has two pieces. Most importantly, there were enough red coconut sugar and coconut flakes for the two pieces.

Besides the Putu Mayam, Xiang Xiang Cooked Food sells other kueh too, such as the sweet potato balls, Tapioca Kuih, Ondeh Ondeh, Tapioca Sandwich, Fried Sesame Ball and Fried Dumpling

We tried two of my favourite Kueh, the Tapioca Kuih and Ondeh Ondeh. Most would know about the famous store at Maxwell store selling these 2 kueh. The one from Xiang Xiang are as good as the one at Maxwell.
