I got to know Craft Coffee Roaster at Tai Kok Tsui through a website, if I remember correctly is, Beanhunter. It rated pretty highly for Craft Coffee Roaster so I thought I should check it out since on the map, it looked pretty near to the hotel I was staying.
The opening time wasn’t very friendly for me as since I was here for the purpose of work but I still find time. The only available window period was early in the morning, reached the cafe just when it opened.
Craft Coffee Roaster has a simple design, bar like tables and chairs, not very friendly for short people like me. There isn’t much seats as the cafe isn’t that big.
There were some pretty luring breakfast such as smoked salmon, scones, muffin, croissant. All are my favourite. The pity was I was there right after my breakfast at Tai Hing, therefore I will not try its food. Anyhow, my sole original purpose was to savour its coffee. And so … I ordered a Cappuccino.
There were two types of bean for selection; the Kenya and Ethiopia.
I did not request for a specific type, left it to the barista so I do not know what bean was used in my Cappuccino.
The coffee was medium to full bodied with a pleasant aroma, and medium to low acidity, quite a good balance. It tasted sweetish with a good berry flavour and light hint of caramel. It was pleasant to the palette. I enjoyed the coffee. Good breakfast and then enjoyed a good coffee what a good way to start the day on the last day of work week. 😀
