Our family rode the Singapore Flyer on Vesak Day morning as my sister obtained some corporate passes and we can ride for free. In fact, I was pretty excited as it was my first time and I get to ride for free.
Before you could reach the boarding area, you will have to walk through the exhibits.
It has some interesting facts about the flyer.
Pretty cool to stop by and take a look. Don’t rush to get on the flyers, do take a moment to view them. They are very educational.
Once you spotted the “Flight Lounge” signage, you are not far from boarding the flyer.
Pass through the pathway and you will soon arrived at the boarding platform.
When at the boarding area, I saw a glimpse of the flyer. The queue wasn’t very long. Nevertheless, there were some waiting time, less than ten minutes.
The flyer doesn’t stop. It moves on a constant speed even as you board. So you got to be fast and careful.
As the flyer starts to climb, the first view we saw was the Kallang River and its surrounding.
Took a few photos and zoom-in to take the dragon boat and canoing.
Next we saw the view of the Hotels at Marina Square area.
When we reached the summit of the wheel, at 165 m high, there was an announcement informing the passengers about it.
Now it is time for the wheel to descend for the view at the other side.
We saw the view of Garden By the Bay and the Marina Barrage. It was lovely greenery. This was the best sight of the flyer in my view.
And the best part is that, these can be seen both at ascending and descending of the wheel.
As it continued to descend, we saw the view of the Marina Financial Centre, the Padang, Shenton Way and the Marina Bay Sands
Finally back to the original point. Its time for our capsule to approach the original boarding point.
For the visitors who do not want to go home empty handed, you can purchase some souvenirs from the gift shop.
It was an interesting ride, with great scenery of Singapore skyscrapers and greens. A good experience for both local and tourist.
