Fu Xiang Signature @ Food Republic VivoCity has a humble beginning. Started at a coffeshop and has now expanded to 4 outlets, all located within Food Republic island-wide. The 3 others are at Causeway Point, Parkway and Shaw Centre. Looks like they have covered all part except West of Singapore.

 

Took over the stall previously occupied by Vietnam food at level 3 of Food Republic of VivoCity. After trying their food, I feel how lucky were my ex-colleagues. How I wish they were around when I was working at HarbourFront.

 

 

At Fu Xiang Signature @ Food Republic VivoCity, they whip mainly retro classic dishes using traditional recipes. There are some innovative items offered at outlet for diners looking for alternatives.

 

 

Diners’ all-time favourite item is the Signautre Curry Chicken. It comes with either rice or bread. Without failed, I would choose the latter to go with my curry. At first mouth, instantaneously, the respond from most are “It is spicy.” Personally, I find the spice level to be perfect and we would certainly describe the curry to be “lemak” enough. This wonderful bowl of love was the result of 21 Secret Spices & Herbs, 4 Hours to Chop, Blend, Prepare Spices & Herbs, 5 Hours to Cook our Chili Paste and finally 1 Hour to Cook.

 

 

Sambal Fried Chicken with Cheese is yet another highly sought for item. The sweetish sambal sauce which I savour tomato flavour. I must say it wasn’t my favourite.

 

     

 

Next is the Signature Curry Assam Fish Head which I would recommend especially for family meal. The portion was huge, good enough for family of 4 and more among other dishes. The assam blend curry was appetising.

 

 

Last but not least was the Emperor Sauce Chicken (I don’t have a photo). Many mistook it as Salted Egg due to the strong aroma emitting from the Curry Leave. Otherwise, there is nothing close to salted egg. Among other ingredients, there were Condense Milk, Curry Powder and Chilli Padi. In any case, it may satisfy your salted egg craving though. This isn’t my fave dish either.

 

 

NAHMJ Verdict

 

If I were still working around HarbourFront, I am sure I will patronise Fu Xiang Signature @ Food Republic VivoCity at least once a week for the Curry Chicken.
