I didn’t know Kra Pow when it started in a small unit at a corner of Far East Plaza; not until it took over the space where Han formerly occupied. However, I still didn’t make plan to try them till a friend started posting a few photos of their food and was raving about it. She is a foodie that was why it triggered my interest instantaneously.
As soon as the occasion arise, I got some friends to join me at Kra Pow for a meal of Thai food. I am quite certain, they won’t rebuke my suggestion as who doesn’t love this cuisine. I visited Kra Pow 2 times before coming up with this post.
Menu was a single page with purely words and no picture. It is quite a boring menu and didn’t make decision easy even though there is a short description of each dish.
Kick start with Thai Iced Milk Tea and Lemongrass. Both were good however the strength of the Lemongrass flavour was inconsistence at both visit.
Tom Yum Soup was available in both Clear and Red. We thought the clear was better even fans of the Red Tom Yum Soup think likewise.
Fried Chicken Wings was a popular item at Kra Pow. I observed that almost all table has a basket of these addictive tasty snack.
Be warned, especially, the mild spicy diners, this plain-looking Stirred Fried Morning Glory is quite fiery spicy. Do prepare a drink beside you in case you needed it.
Another crowd-pleaser in Kra Pow is the Drunkard Noodle, available in either Pork or Seafood. I tried both and I thought it is dependent on preference and maybe other choices of your selection too.
If you needed more chilli, Kra Pow offers a wide range of chilli condiment.
Rounding the meal with desserts, Mango Sticky Rice and Red Ruby & Emerald Ruby. We love the latter as the coconut flavour was strong enough to savour and wasn’t too artificial. The former was slight too sweet for our preference.
Overall, I like the affordable authentic Thai food whipped at Kra Pow. And for the spicy lovers, this is surely the place to dine at. A pity, the standard isn’t too consistent for now.
