Latteria Mozzarella Bar at Duxton Hill has been in my bucket list for the longest time as it was highly recommended to me previously by an ex-colleague who has discerning palate. As there are so many restaurants that I have accumulate on my to try list, I didn’t manage to find a time for this gem. Finally, I found the chance. Thanks to a dinner with some colleagues from France and India.
Surrounded by national conserved shophouse, with a large outdoor space with green, resulting in a casual and relaxing environment.
This restaurant has mainly Al Fresco dinning. Hence if you are looking to dine indoor, do remember to make a reservation before hand.
Focus of Latteria Mozzarella Bar is Southern Italian cuisines.
Whenever at an Italian restaurant, fresh cheese as a starter is inevitable. Therefore, we got the Burratina Zucca, Roast Pumpkin & Truffle ($25). As I always said, anything with truflle simply taste divine. With the pumpkin emitting a sweetish scent, enhances the flavours.
Commonly, Deep-fried Calamari, Mayo & Arrabbiata ($18). As long as the calamari is fresh and with a thin batter, most importantly, it isn’t over-fried, enjoying it with either sauce is heavenly.
Last starter for the night is the simple Bruschetta Cherry Tomato, Garlic & Oregano ($18), great for the vegetarian, provided you do consume garlic.
One suggestion for Mains are the Roasted Red Snapper Fillet, Sauteed Tuscan Kale, Smoked Peppers Puttanesca Sauce ($38) which attracted my attention. However, I decided to go with Pork Chop Milanese, Fried Zucchini Chips, Lemon Rocket Salad ($36). One of the best deep-fried pork I ever had.
On the menu are handful of vegetarian item, one of which is the Latteria’s Mac & Cheese ($28).
Meal without dessert is incomplete. A crowd favourite would be the Gelato ($6/Scoop) available in Vanilla, Chocolate and Pistachio flavour. I prefer the Tipsy Tiramisù Cup ($16). A well balance cup of various ingredients; chocolate powder, cheese mousse, coffee and alcohol. The portion is good for sharing.
NAHMJ Verdict
If you enjoy outdoor dinning and Italian food, Latteria Mozzarella Bar is the place I would recommend.
