Located strategically above the MRT and next to the Monorail Express, it is the place for both local and tourist to turn to when they are at Vivocity. Recently, the Revamped Food Republic VivoCity welcomed a number of new tentants.

Imperial Hot Pot

 

Mala is getting popular among Singaporean, as such it is timely to introduce them at Food Republic VivoCity too with Imperial Hot Pot as one of their new tenant.

 

 

Among the signature, we tried only Wushan Grilled Fish ($26). Using only fresh Seabass fried and layered Mala spice sauce, peanut, parsely and spring onions to spice it up further. Other worth trying items are Hotpot Sesame Chicken ($7) and Hotplate Spicy Prawn ($13).

 

 

Express Teppanyaki

 

I observed that it Teppanyaki has been missing from food court for quite awhile. Now it is re-introduced to the VivoCity outlet with Express Teppanyaki.

 

 

Customers sat beside the grill to enjoy both the chef performance and the food. The price of the set meal starts from $10.80 which is the Teppan-Yaki Sliced Beef / Pork with Chilli & Garlic with white rice. We find it tasty but some find it too salty, especially if your salt tolerance is low.

 

 

Other hearty recommended set meal is the Teppan-Yaki Special Set C ($19.80) consisting of dory fillet, squid, scallop, oyster, choice of sliced beef, lamb or pork and drink. If there are 2 diners, a value for money option is the Teppan-Yaki Double Sets ($33.80) which allow a choice of 2 meats alongside assorted seafood.

 

 

The Humble Hut

 

Western dishes are always a popular choice as such it is always wise to have them in food court. At the Revamped Food Republic VivoCity, we have The Humble Hut offering value for money dishes.

 

 

Some crowd pleasers are the Grilled Fish in Lemon Butter ($7.90) and the other which we tried was Seafood Arrabiatta Pasta ($9.90). Although I usually avoid tomato dishes, I find this acceptable.

 

 

Thu Thu Baguette And Pho Bar

 

You might be pleased to know that Thu Thu Baguette And Pho Bar is surely offering authentic Vietnamese dishes as it is run by a Vietnamese family. 

 

 

Bun Cha is getting popular, at Thu Thu, they offer their rendition, BBQ Pork with Noodle ($7.90). As it is sourish, it tend to whet the appetite. And the ingredients in the bowl is so tasty. I love all of them. Another recommendation is the Beef Noodle Soup ($7.90).

 

 

JJ Thai Street

 

Singaporean loves their Thai Food, and here we have JJ Thai Street food at the Revamped Food Republic VivoCity who started as a humble hawker stall in Bukit Merah in 2012. Some of the key highlights are Phad Thai ($6) and Pineapple Fried Rice ($6) and the Thai Roast Duck Curry ($6) is worth a mention. Easily, one of the best Duck Curry at such wallet friendly price.

 

At JJ Thai, they have a live grill station. Prawn is offered at $1.50 each.

 

 

 

Taiwan Delight

 

An array of dishes are on Taiwan Delight menu, the popular items is Taiwanese Black Pot Steamboat where customer can choose wither beef ($7.30), chicken ($6.30), pork ($6.80) or mushroom and tofu ($6.80) for the vegetarian.

 

 

 

Guan’s Mee Pok

 

Guan’s Mee Pok has been around in the market for quite some time, but it gets into the limelight when Yap perfect the art of Mee Pok, blending the tradition with the modern palate by introducing Yakitori and the Ni Tamago with Mee Pok.

 

 

Mee Pok Noodle Signature ($5) is my all time favourite ever since I found them at VivoCity. As I am bias of egg, I do crave for this bowl of noodle. 

 

Plain Noodle + Chicken Soup with Shrimp Paste ($6.50) is also another signature item.

 

 

Hok Kee Authentic Hong Kong Noodle & Congee

 

Hok Kee has been around in Hong Kong since 1950, this time-honoured brand isnow in Singapore. I tried the Assorted Beef Noodles ($8.50) for the first time and I love it. As I am writing this post, I am relishing on the rich and strong flavours which is well suited for my palate.

 

 

 

Peramakan 

 

Last but not least is PeraMakan. Using recipes that has 400 years of history, as such you could be assured that it is certainly authentic and delish. I could attest to that statement too. Tried and approved. 

 

 

Ayam Buah Keluak ($4.80) is one of the must have in my opinion. The sauce is rich in Buah Keluak, hence diners need not dig the minced nut that is usually stuffed in the shell. Therefore, the chicken is soaked and absorbed in this sauce of black gold.

 

 

Beef Rendang ($4.80) is another thumbs up dish. The beef melts in the mouth and the rendang sauce is extremely flavourful.

 

 

NAHMJ Verdict

 

We love the food at this Revamped Food Republic VivoCity and we are sure most would too.
