WGS 2017: United Nations Gastronomic Assembly (UNGA)

World Gourmet Summit (WGS), Singapore’s very own annual food and wine festival, has finally reached adulthood; it has turned 21. Fittingly, it is taking on greater responsibilities with the theme “United Nations Gastronomic Assembly (UNGA)”. This year, WGS 2017 will ‘unite the world with food’ by gathering the culinary stars from 16 countries right here in Singapore. Besides our Singaporean chefs, we will also welcome masterchefs from Hungary, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Ukraine, The Netherlands, Japan and Cambodia.

In conjunction with this year’s theme, the press conference was kicked off with a unique multi-national Taco Challenge where chefs from various restaurants got together to make Chinese, Laos, Italian, Portuguese and Mexican tacos live! Just imagine the burst of aromas that greeted our nostrils when the chefs started cooking! I was made to salivate right from the onset!
