Stirling Bar & Grill At Cheong Chin Nam Road – Beauty World, Singapore

Stirling Bar & Grill has been around for about 2.5 years, unknowingly. I knew about them since they started at 15 Cheong Chin Nam Road, opposite Beauty World Centre. But never once tried them till recently as they were too far away from me. Thanks to Downtown line that I am willing to try to this part of Singapore.

It is not easy to identify the cafe. One could easily missed it even though there were signage. As these signage weren’t obvious. In addition, along the stretch, all the establishment were extremely bright, while they were dimly lit.

There weren’t much theme for the interior design per se. Everything seems to be there for its function and with random pictures throughout the cafe. At the very least, it didn’t look too messy.

Stirling Bar & Grill At Cheong Chin Nam Road - Grilled Watermelon ($9)

While browsing the menu, we found the unusual and yet alluring Grilled Watermelon ($9) hence can’t help but to order this item. It turned out to be quite disappointing as the combination of feta cheese and the grilled watermelon tasted weird. It is very strange as it is quite a common pairing for salad. I couln’t figure out what went so wrong.

Stirling Bar & Grill At Cheong Chin Nam Road - Stirling Slider ($3 each)

We were amazed at how wallet friendly the Stirling Slider was; priced at $3 each. We didn’t find the beef patty enjoyable. Since it is at such a low pricing, we couldn’t complain. There is a minimum order of 2 sliders.

Signature item at Stirling Bar & Grill is the charcoal grilled meat. We tried 2 of the dishes. First the Ultimate Grilled Chicken ($16). Generally, due to the grilling over charcoal, light smokiness was savoured.

If you eat beef, Ribeye ($29 – 200g / $35 – 250g) is the must order. Among all the food we tried, we gave thumbs up for the beef. It was quite a premium cut with enough fats around the meat, though not the marble kind.

Stirling Fried Chicken ($15) has an ultra crispy batter; a pity the marinate was not consistent throughout the chicken. Some part was tasty and most part weren’t.

Stirling Bar & Grill At Cheong Chin Nam Road - Crispy King Salmon ($23)

I am never a fan of cooked salmon, hence the Crispy King Salmon ($23) wasn’t much to my liking.

Stirling Bar & Grill At Cheong Chin Nam Road - Waffle by Dessert Splash

For some reasons, Stirling Bar & Grill created a dessert brand, Dessert Splash, offering waffle, churros and ice cream. The dessert looks very pretty. Ice cream was decent but for the waffle, there were rooms for improvement. As for their effort, we would award them full marks.

NAHMJ Verdict

The only item we will order at the Stirling Bar & Grill is the Ribeye Steak.
