Cooking the Paste
I went ahead to try cooking the paste personally. I cooked all the 4 Asian Delights within a meal, for dinner.
First prepare all the ingredients, cut the chive, beancurd, tau por and etc.
Next is cooking the gravy. Cooking the Mee Rebus, Mee Siam and Laksa are extremely easy. All you have to do is add water to the paste (and plus coconut milk to the Laksa) over the fire. Stir to dissolve the paste and bring it to boil. Once done leave it aside for serving later.
As for the Curry Chicken, a little more work. You need to marinate the chicken with the Curry Paste for 20 – 30 mins and stir fried it before adding water. Bring to boil and lastly, coconut milk into the chicken. Make sure it is boiled after the coconut milk is added. And you are ready to serve.
And we are ready to enjoy
Once you are ready to serve, pour the gravy over the noodles and garnish it with ingredients of your choice.
Mee Rebus
Mee Siam
Singapore Laksa
A side note, beside cooking the Singapore Laksa, the paste can be used to cook Laksa pasta and perhaps stir fried the noodles to make it dry Laksa too. I am going to try that the next round.
Curry Chicken
Isn’t it look like it was cooked by a Chef? It was a Asian delight dinner which we enjoyed very much.
Verdict
It taste as good as those served at Toastbox. Importantly, it was cooked by myself for the family with lots of love in it. Novice get started!!
