Neh Neh Pop is an ice cream stand right beside the Artichoke Cafe and it is also sold at Naiise Central and various pop-ups. Instead of conventional ice cream scoop, Neh Neh Pop offers double coated ice cream sticks.
When I first heard of the name, Neh Neh Pop, I didn’t quite like the name. I really wonder why such a name was chosen.
Neh Neh Pop started offering only 5 flavours with mostly Vanilla Based ice cream.
As it is a takeaway ice cream stand, each stick was already pre-packed individually. This is definitely a convenient way to enjoy the dessert at the comfort of home or anyway else.
We tried a total of 3 flavours. My first attempt was the Mango Sticky Rice. In it, it has the Coconut Rice Puddding (Vanilla Based) Ice Cream with Mango dice. The stick it is coated with a layer of White Chocolate and coconute flakes with rice crisps to mimic Mango Sticky Rice. This combination is one of my fave. I craved for more the next day.
Next, was the Baklava. Another vanilla based ice cream with Orange Blossom and Baklava chunks. Coated with Dark Chocolate Dip and chopped nuts. With the Baklava, this is pretty Middle Eastern flavour. I didn’t find this as fabulous as the Mango Sticky Sticky. As I tasted mainly the rich Vanilla flavoured ice cream and the nuts. So it didn’t wow me.
The last flavour we tried was the Strawberry Pockie. It composed of Vanilla Ice Cream with frozen strawberry ripple dipped in White Chocolate and strawberry pocky sticky as the coat.
The revamped Rocky Road is now with a Milk Chocolate Ice Cream, Toasted almonds and of course Marshmallow in it too. With Dark Chocolate dips and Fruity Pebbles. Nice!
The Milo Dinosaur is the flavours for SG50 celebration. In it were Milo kulfi, marshmallows, white chocolate dip, crushed milo cereal and milo powder. Localicious!! This will be taken off the shelves after 2015.
Having the ice cream on stick is a throwback to childhood. We used to have such delights once in a while. Now Neh Neh Pop has brought back these sticks but with luxuries element and some fascinating creations.

Haven’t you heard of pop yeh yeh, one of the Malay pop genres from the 60s? It’s not a big leap from that to neh neh pop. Although what the actual derivation of neh neh pop is would be something only Bjorn knows
Hi R,
Thanks for the info. I didn’t know about it. Great that you took time to drop me these lines.
Cheers
